I first met Tina during the Dig Pink volleyball event. I was helping my daughter, Coach Fournier, to gather raffle items for the event. Tina and I worked together to collect items and sort them. She was such a fun person to be around even though there were times that her feet were hurting or she was in pain.

One night we decided to have a pre-drawing for the raffle items and Tina Helped me with this task. We became kindred friends.

I love the quote she listed on her blog about difficult situations pointing to our strengths instead of our weaknesses. I was going through a similar life event when I met Tina. Those words inspired me to be strong during difficult times.

Soon after Tina died, I built a horse barn not too far from Conway. I talked with Tina about it before she died. Before the sheetrock was put in place in the living quarters, I took a black permanent marker and wrote the quote above the entrance.

Even though I can no longer see the actual words I know they are there and remember that Tina and I were both entrusted to allow our strength to shine during unbelievable times.

My Aunt Tina.

You have facilitated bonding, love, giving, and kindness in our family. In many ways, you were the glue in our family.

Everywhere I look, I see you. I see you in Lily Mae’s toy box, in her closet, in my stack of thank you cards and post cards from your many family trips.

I see you in my daughter’s crazy hair, energetic personality, and contagious laugh. I hope someday she is as selfless and classy as you. I hope I am too.

You were a woman of living by example, not just words. An example of not only how to live a godly and full life, but an example of how to pour into others. I forget to do that sometimes, but you never did.

Not only did you and Patrick pour into me continuously growing up through employing me (and of course dressing me in Mary Engelbreit scrubs for the job) and in more ways to mention, but by modeling an unshakable and unconditional love for each other and for your entire family.
